Fundraiser
About the role
The fundraiser will work as part of our small fundraising team, supporting the fundraising manager and using a range of fundraising methods including events and trusts foundations. The team is seeking to increase supporter engagement and generate funds exceeding £100,000 annually to fund our network of food banks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating 2 direct mail fundraising appeals each year
- Writing thank you letters for all donations received
- Organising our flagship summer fundraising food festivals with a target of £25,000 raised
- Maintaining a CRM database of donors and potential donors
- Contributing to the writing of funding applications to new trusts and foundations
- Liaising with the wider team to gather information for funder reports
- First point of contact for our National Lottery grant, responding to requests and queries
- Promoting our new portfolio of giving options: text to give, tap simple, and mobile pay
- Piloting a new online quiz event to raise £10,000 over a year
- Supporting the design and delivery of a new legacy and in-memory giving appeal
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in fundraising
- Advanced level writing skills to be able to produce persuasive bid writing copy
- Great people skills, able to network and build relationships with new people
- Confident public speaker
- Resilient nature, ability to keep going after funding rejections
- Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and relevant fundraising legislation
- A commitment to our mission to ensure that no family goes hungry
Desirable
- A degree level qualification
- Creative ideas for new fundraising events
- Knowledge of food insecurity issues in the UK
Salary
Salary range for fundraiser working from head office, depending on qualifications and experience £26,000 - £33,000.
Additional information
Occasional evening or weekend work for events.
