Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

About the role

You will provide strong leadership both internally and externally, working with the staff, the Board of Trustees, volunteers, partners and stakeholders to position the organisation as the leading voice on Diabetes.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the lead advocate, spokesperson and liaison for the organisation with government, the media and service users
  • Setting the annual budget
  • Monitoring performance against KPis
  • Providing effective leadership and management of the team of 15 staff and 20 volunteers
  • Ensuring the services and support provided are of the highest professional standards. 
  • Continuing to facilitate the research and development of services required by the diabetic community, including digital transformation
  • Developing and driving the 3 year strategic plan and vision 
  • Increasing financial resources through fundraising, partnerships, and campaigns
  • Increasing public awareness and understanding 
  • Alongside the Board, ensure the highest standards of governance
  • Oversee the regular review and update of all policies
  • Alongside the Chairperson, lead Trustee Board meetings, setting agendas and reporting
  • Ultimately responsible for safeguarding across the organisation
  • Building an organisation where equality, diversity and inclusivity are promoted

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in a business/management/administration/health studies
  • Membership of relevant professional body
  • Experience of leading a charity and working with a board of trustees
  • Risk management expertise
  • Commitment to improving services for the diabetic community and their families
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Able to prioritise a busy and complex workload

Desirable

  • At least 6 months experience in a healthcare setting

Salary

Salary range for CEO will be discussed at interview, depending on qualifications and experience and taking into account our benefits package
