22-23 World Relief Spokane Volunteer & Event Specialist This position has multiple start dates, open until filled World Relief Spokane is an international non-profit organization that domestically serves refugees and other vulnerable immigrants with a variety of services including case management, resettlement, legal status consulting, employment, and community integration. Our office works with program participants from their first day in the United States for many years to come as they adjust to life in America. This position is responsible to further our vision of a flourishing, multi-cultural community in our region through developing events which engage the refugee community with each other and with our church and community partners. Part of the role will be working to create events for clients and assisting in volunteer communication and/or training for such events. Member Duties : The focus of this role is to envision, create and lead execution of events supporting the mission of World Relief Spokane, including refugee community classes and youth events. The member will collaborate with the Friendship Center manager to help create adult and youth events that meet the needs of the particular ethnic communities we serve. They will communicate with community partners about activities and fundraisers through meetings, phone calls and emails, and will also collaborate with Communications Coordinator on promotional materials needed for events and outreach. Computer proficiency, love for children and youth, willingness to drive and a clear driving record, love for multi ethnic engagement and good written and verbal communication skills are desired.
